Ultherapy®

Ultherapy - Pre and Post Procedure InformationUltherapy is a quick, non-invasive procedure designed to lift, firm and tighten the skin of the face and neck without surgery. It is the first procedure of its kind to use focused ultrasound energy to first visualize and then treat the deep support structures of the skin. Ultherapy targets the SMAS, or superficial musculoaponeurotic system, the same deep layer of tissue that is addressed with a surgical facelift. By gradually strengthening the skin from within, Ultherapy is able to lift and tone the skin for a natural, long-lasting result.

By using ultrasound, Ultherapy is able to bypass the surface of the skin and address the deep layers to lift and support the skin. Because of this, it has been called an “uplift” not a “face lift.” Heat is delivered at precise depths of up to 4.5 millimeters which creates a contracting and tightening effect.

Ultherapy is considered a safe therapy, approved by the FDA, with more than 350,000 procedures performed. It is growing rapidly as a very popular treatment for skin laxity.

Side Effects of Ultherapy®

Ultherapy may produce an immediate result, but the most noticeable results are common 2 to 3 months after the procedure. Patients may need only one treatment to reach their desired goal, however based on each individual’s case, additional treatments or touch-ups need to be performed to enhance the results.

Directly after an Ultherapy procedure, the skin may appear flushed with some slight swelling, tingling and tenderness to the touch. Bruising may appear and the patient may feel some numbness in the area. These side effects typically subside on their own within two weeks following the procedure.

NeoGenesis Pre Ultherapy®

Before any procedure on the skin is performed, it is extremely important for the client to have their skin in the healthiest condition possible to experience the best results and faster healing. While Ultherapy tightens the tissue, it does not affect the skin’s surface. Beginning a home protocol of NeoGenesis S²RM® products prior to the procedure will ensure that the skin has all the nutrients it needs to recover faster and more beautifully. Twice daily use of our NeoGenesis Cleanser, followed by Recovery serum, then Intensive Moisturizer or Barrier Renewal Cream, is the best insurance to keep your skin its healthiest.

NeoGenesis Post Ultherapy®

Immediately following an Ultherapy procedure, the skin will be in a more sensitive and fragile state. Recovery should be applied twice daily, followed by our Intensive Moisturizer or Barrier Renewal Cream. This will help to assist the skin with any swelling, bruising and pain associated with this procedure. Moisturizing Mist may be used throughout the day for immediate relief of the symptoms. Continue this post procedure protocol until the treated area has healed completely.

For the maintenance protocol apply Recovery 3-4 times per week. Always follow the application of Recovery with the Intensive Moisturizer to create the perfectly hydrated state within the skin. After approximately 10 days, consult our mature/aging skin page for additional ideas to support your skin care.

Post Ultherapy use our gentle Cleanser, followed by Recovery twice daily. When appropriate, apply Intensive Moisturizer or Barrier Renewal Cream for soothing relief. For instant relief, a light spray of our Moisturizing Mist may be used throughout the day as needed. After approximately 10 days, or when the skin has returned to a normal state, Skin Serum or Booster may be applied in the AM after cleansing, followed by one of our moisturizers. Continue the use of Recovery after cleansing in the PM, followed by one of our moisturizers. If additional hydration is needed in the PM, Skin Serum or Booster may be added to the routine, after Recovery and before the moisturizer.
